Earning Credit

Credit Options

There are two credit options for MVCR courses depending on your needs. Each method involvesdifferent procedures and different fees.

Earning Continuing Education Units

Non-credit courses can be taken for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the Illinois Online Network/Illinois Virtual Campus.

Advanced Online Seminars may be taken for 4 Continuing Education Units through the Illinois Online Network/Illinois Virtual Campus and are NOT counted toward fulfilment of the Master Online Teacher certificate.

Using this site to register for a course, will automatically sign you up to receive a CEU letter upon successful completion of the course. You do not need to specify this as an option.

Earning Academic Credit Hours through the University of Illinois at Springfield

Most 8-week courses can be taken for 2 academic credit hours through the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS) in the Teacher Education Program or the Computer Sciences (depending on the course). To take a course through UIS, follow the instructions on the registration page specific to that program. Advanced Online Seminars are currently NOT offered through UIS. As is ALWAYS the case with credit transfer, whether credits will transfer to another school or program is the decision of the receiving school.

Auditing

MVCR courses cannot be audited.
