Faculty members from across Illinois will come together on the Urbana campus to collaborate on the integration of networked information technologies into the curriculum. Each campus will send a team of faculty members and instructional support personnel to the Institute. The Institute will:

  1. introduce faculty members to the use of learning technologies, such as the World Wide Web and asynchronous conferencing, and
  2. create a network for sharing in the development of the curriculum and use of learning technologies.

The Faculty Staff Institute will run concurrently with a similar institute involving faculty from the twelve 4-year public institutions in Illinois. For the most part, the two events will be separate, but we will be sharing a several  plenary sessions with distinguished speakers.

Each institution may send up to ten staff members to the Institute. The Illinois Online Network grant will cover the cost of the actual institute, instructional materials, facilities, and many of the meals. The grant does not cover travel expenses or overnight accommodations.
