Coordinator, Diana Billeter currently teaches full time in the Business and Computing Technology (BCT) lab at Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, IL. She is also the coordinator for the BCT labs on all three Carl Sandburg College locations. Her educational background includes a bachelor of science from Illinois State University in business education and a master’s degree from Western Illinois University in instructional technology and telecommunications. Over the past decade, she has been a certified trainer for several different software packages and traveled across the state conducting training workshops. Recently, Diana has acquired WebCT Senior Certified Trainer status and become a "Who Moved My Cheese" Certified Trainer.

JP Dunn is the WebCT Administrator and Web Developer for Morris Library's Instructional Support Services at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Education with a specialization in Computer Based Education (Instructional Technology). For over ten years JP has provided technical and administrative computer and Internet support, as well as customized programming for university faculty and staff. JP divides his time between instruction in Internet technologies, development of software to assist in the creation of web-based materials, administering the WebCT server, and serving on campus committees for distance learning.

Jan Engle and been designing, developing and teaching online courses for 6 years. As an Instructional Designer for the Center for Online Teaching and Learning at Governors State University, her responsibilities include faculty development related to online teaching, instructional design, consulting, and developing fully online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses. Additionally, she oversees the Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching, which she developed and for which she currently teaches two courses. She has developed more than 15 original online courses and has worked with faculty in original development and modification of publisher courses representing another 20 fully online and hybrid courses.

Since 1980, I have been a full-time instructor of speech and theater at Triton College. I teach in the Interdisciplinary Studies Department which offers interdisciplinary packages of general education courses in communications, fine arts, social and behavioral sciences and humanities. Department members collaborate in curriculum and lesson planning, assignments and exams, the assessment of learners, team teaching, etc. In 1998, we moved our learning community to an online format preserving the interdisciplinary mandate and connecting the virtual community of online learners to the classroom community of on-campus learners. I teach online theater courses in this Community Of One model. Additionally, I teach what is somewhat of a rarity online public speaking courses. I also teach the Encouraging Communications course in the MVCR program.

I received both my bachelor''s and my master''s degrees from Eastern Illinois University and have been an instructor of English for a number of years. I currently teach English Composition, Research writing, Intro to Literature, Creative Writing (fiction and poetry), Bible as Literature, Children’s Literature and Developmental English. Fortunately, I don’t teach them all at one time. I began teaching online several years ago and really enjoy it.
I am also the Academic Technology Coordinator for Lake Land College. Part of my responsibilities is to train faculty members in online learning and new technologies.

Dr. Garrett is currently a professor of Computer Information Systems in the School of Business at Eastern Illinois University, teaching courses in programming, networking and management information systems. For the past 33 years he has worked as a teacher and administrator at the high school, community college, and university levels. Among other duties, he has served as a high school athletic director, community college dean, university academic computing specialist, and as associate director of a university computer institute. He loves to teach using a blended learning approach and is a frequent presenter and speaker on the subject of electronic collaboration.

Leaunda Hemphill teaches instructional design and technology-integration courses to undergraduate and graduate students in Instructional Design and Technology Department at Western Illinois University. She also teaches the MVCR course on Student Assessment in Online Courses. Dr. Hemphill provides training to higher education faculty and develops online and face-to-face professional development curriculum and workshops. Her research interests include developing effective measures for improving online student learning, using adaptive learning strategies for computer-based and online instruction, and improving techniques for integrating technology into the K12 classroom. Dr. Hemphill’s educational background is in instructional technology, distance education, secondary education, and the theory and practice of writing.

Kevin’s interest in technology started at age 14 when he purchased his first computer: a Commodore 64. Within a year of that purchase, Kevin was hired by the University of Illinois as a computer programmer. Anyone remember Plato? Kevin spent three years working with the Computer Adaptive Testing and Measurement team developing online study materials for students. For the past eleven years, Kevin has developed curriculum and taught in both academic and corporate settings. He is currently an Instructional Designer for ION where he supports faculty, designs/redesigns/teaches online course, and facilitates a state-wide initiative on quality standards for online course.

Professor Michel Nguessan is Head of Library and Academic Technology at Governors State University. He is responsible for library systems, academic software applications and university-wide digital initiatives. He is also in charge of faculty development workshops in the area of technology. Throughout the academic year, he teaches workshops covering emerging technologies and online learning/teaching tools. Dr. Nguessan holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from the University of Quebec (ETS-Montreal), a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and a PhD from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign).

Dr. Anthony Piña is Coordinator of Learning Technologies at Northeastern Illinois University, where he also teaches in the Department of Educational Leadership and Development. He is President-Elect of the Division of Distance Learning of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology. Anthony also serves as adjunct professor of Educational Technology and Distance Learning at La Sierra University. He has been a consultant to Fortune 500 corporations, government agencies, university consortia, K-12 schools and the U.S. Military. Anthony has delivered over 70 invited presentations on instructional technology and distance learning at conferences and has developed and taught over 150 technology workshops.

Paul Riismandel accidentally turned his obsession with media and technology into a career. He is the manager of Digital A/V Production and Support for ATLAS, in the College of LAS at UIUC. His specialty is streaming and internet media, which he’s been producing since 1996.
Paul is also a doctoral student at the Institute of Communications Research. In Spring 2006 he designed and taught an undergraduate class on understanding and creating new media.
Outside of work and school Paul hosts and produces Mediageek (http://www.mediageek.net), a nationally syndicated weekly half-hour community radio program covering independent media issues and politics.

Ray Schroeder is Professor Emeritus, Director of the Office of Technology-Enhanced Learning at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and Faculty Associate at the University of Illinois Online. He has taught 30 online classes. As Director of Technology-Enhanced Learning he is dedicated to faculty development and pedagogical support of the online initiative. As Faculty Associate, Schroeder is engaged in the formation of online learning policy for the University of Illinois. He is a Sloan Consortium Distinguished Scholar in Online Learning 2002-2003 and the recipient of the 2002 Sloan-C award for the “Most Outstanding Achievement in ALN by an Individual.”

Linda Simpson, Ph.D., Eastern Illinois University, has extensive experience teaching in the online environment. Since 1998, she has developed and taught two online courses at the graduate level and one at the undergraduate level. In addition, all on campus courses are web assisted.
Dr. Simpson has over 20 abstracts and articles published and has presented at over 20 international, national, state, local, and online conferences in the area of online teaching and learning. An example of conferences she has presented at includes the International Online Conference on Teaching Online in Higher Education, Stop Surfing Start Teaching Conference, Illinois Online Conference, Syllabus, and the Mid-South Instructional Technology Conference. Topics of expertise include the transition of an on campus course to an online course, online assessment, managing time online, academic integrity in the online classroom, building effective online communities, and opportunities and challenges of using technology in the classroom.

Brandon C. Taylor is the Interim Dean of the Center for Distance Learning (CDL) at the City Colleges of Chicago and Adjunct Faculty member for CDL. In this role, Brandon is responsible for all aspects of distance learning for campuses of the City Colleges of Chicago including instructional design, course development, faculty assignment and development, student support and training, videoconferencing and satellite systems, etc. Brandon was the Instructional Designer and Adjunct Faculty member for CDL prior to his appointment as the Interim Dean of CDL.Brandon’s research interests include culture and technology, distance learning, assistive technologies/accessibility and human performance technology/improvement.

Currently, I am a Computer Assisted Instruction Specialist for the Illinois Online Network at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Concurrently, I am a finishing graduate student in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research projects include the use of wireless networks in educational settings and the influence of online components to offline courses.
My work with instructional technologies began when I first entered the Teacher Certification program at the University of Illinois. For support, I worked as a Technology Consultant and Technical Troubleshooter for the Office of Educational Technology for several years. During that period and before, I also developed several web resources for organizations, University departments, and individuals. While I have no coursework in computer science, I have been working with computers since the early 1980's when I suppose you could say that I really began my instructional technology experience when I wrote a Constitution testing program in 8th grade. Furthermore, I have taken and taught courses and seminars on various aspects of instructional technology.
