Module Reflection

Overview At the end of each course module, a reflective assignment is due. This formative assessment tool serves to reinforce learning from the module and to allow the instructor to ascertain what you have learned during the module. In this assignment, you are being asked to post a brief statement of what you felt were the main points that were discussed for that module, how you may make use of the knowledge, and how it may affect your own practice.

Pedagogical Rationale Reflections provide a lot of information to the instructor in a very short space on an ongoing basis. From reflections, an instruction can learn what content needs to be reviewed, whether or not students understand how to relate the module content outside of the classroom, and environment concerns that may need to be addressed such as broken links, misspellings, etc.

Goal & Objectives The goal of this activity is to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge of the content while also demonstrating critical thinking skills by analyzing information and sharing how content information relates to them personally and to the field of online instruction in general. This activity also allows students to provide feedback on the physical environment and the instructions.

Instructor's Role My role as your instructor within the discussion forums is to help facilitate discussion by provided probing questions, asking for clarification, and helping problem solve conflicts as necessary. I will not respond to every post because I want you to share your thoughts, experiences, and ideas with each other.

1. Write a summary of the most significant learning points for YOU this week and how they apply to your work situation. How will the information in this module influence your life outside of the classroom?

2. Take time to reflect on the learning experience as a student.

* What readings/activies were most beneficial?
* What would you change?
* What unanswered questions remain?
* What technical / environmental problems need to be addressed?

3. Post your assignment by clicking "Add a new discussion topic..." below by the date on the course calendar.

4. Please put your name in the subject line of your message. For example, "Kevin's Reflection."

5. You may review the responses of your fellow classmates and post any comments and reactions as appropriate. However, you are not required to comment to on anyone's postings for this assignment. If you want to respond, click on the word REPLY , in blue, in the lower-right-hand corner of the box containing the text of their message.

To get 5 points, you much post your reflection on time and it must demonstrate some item of reflection concerning the module being discussed. You can lose points if your reflection is late, not completed, off topic, or does not make sense.
