The Illinois Virtual Campus (IVC)
is a partnership of Illinois
colleges and universities that provides residents of the state
with easy access to all of the online and other distance
education offerings of Illinois colleges and universities. The
IVC provides high quality support services to all online
students in the state, and provides leadership for the
development of quality, comprehensive, and cost-effective
online education offerings and support services within the
higher education system of Illinois. This study addressed a series of questions
regarding changes in the institutions that participate in the IVC focusing
on the nature and status of online learning, how institutional representatives
perceive their institutions'
support for online learning, and implications for state and
local policy/planning.
A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from IVC
institutions. The final report is presented this month as the ION Pointer
and Clicker.
