An exciting new technology is making it possible to add voice to
online courses: podcasting. Most educators recognize the need to diversify
how their course content is delivered to students. However, understanding
how this technology works and what one might do with it is a little more
challenging. This article will explain in layman’s terms how the technology
works and what promise it holds for online teaching and learning. The article
is not intended for the expert podcaster, but rather for the typical online
educator who wants to make sense of this growing phenomenon.
