Michigan Requiring Online

Jennifer M. Granholm, the governor of Michigan, signed a bill that will require all high-school students in the state to take at least one course online before they can graduate.

Access and Lifelong Learning as Top Goals for Higher Education

"Topping the list was increasing access to college for low-income students and adults. That was followed by improving the nation's commitment to lifelong learning and workforce development; increasing need-based aid; doubling the number of graduates in science and mathematics; and expanding institutional accountability and transparency."
